The state of Bihar seems to be getting too ambitious with its plans of leveraging its IT potential recently with core members of Bihar ICT Investment and Promotion Council (BICTIPC) traveling to Bengaluru to woo ICT companies to step into Bihar with local offices.
The team has met Infosys, Intel and other PC and tablet manufacturing companies on August 20 to partner with them and start operations in Bihar.
"We visited STPI, Salarpuria and Velankani Group who are the top Incubation and ICT Infrastructure in Bengaluru. We met few of the top educational institutions like IIIT, SJPIT and also most of the electronics and semiconductor association people to understand the synergy and identify area to work together," a spokesperson of BICTIPC told The DQ Channel.
"We already met BV Naidu, who took Bengaluru ICT development to this stage since 1991 and ex- Chairman STPI. Shortly, we are meeting with our Bangalore Mentor group Mohandas Pai Ex-CFO INFOSYS and chairman of Manipal Group and principal secretary IT Prasad to set-up Karnataka - Bihar Industry tie-up," the spokesperson added.
BICTIPC is presently in Bengaluru and their venture seems promising enough to bring in at least 2 IT companies to the state. Further, BICTIPC is focussing over technical educational institutions to enter into some sort of a tie-up for Bihar.
Recently, in a major skill development and welfare exercise for the ex-servicemen, SKN under department of Home has sponsored Computer Data Entry training for them and their dependants across Bihar. This scheme is initially launched at Patna and ARA and will gradually cover the entire Districts based on the outcome of this training programme as well as interest of the target masses across Bihar.
"We are working closely with various departments under the CM's vision of Bihar Kaushal Vikas and seem to soon establish its past glory once the various IT and Industry related capacity building and education training takes its pace. Today capacity building and training in skill development has become the need of the hour", said PK Sinha, director, Astric Center of Excellence who is also a member of the core team of BICTIPC.
