What is the scope for the Iris technology in e-governance applications, border security and others involving industrial security? What major verticals are you looking at?
eGovernance applications has humungous scope for the iris technology. Aadhaar UID is becoming the tool for identity verification when it comes to beneficiary authentication. In eGovernance, G2C relation includes the services provided by the Government to the Citizens. These services include the public utility services i.e. Telecommunication, Transportation, Post, Medical facilities, Electricity, Education and also some of the democratic services relating to the citizenship such as Certification, Registration, Licensing, Taxation, Passports, ID Cards etc.Therefore citizen authentication in eGovernance application in G2C,C2G, G2G, G2B relationship is imperative in controlling misuse and freezing loopholes. Border Security and other involving industrial security are in the iris recognition adoption stage to track and manage the flow of humans across borders for entrance and exit during immigration. Focused major verticals we are looking at are BFSI and telecommunications.
Could you tell us how the recent government funding has helped shape your strategic vision?
Currently guideline is yet not set by the DIPP for which the fund to be invested through SIDBI and SEBI recognized AIF.
What are the priorities for Biomatiques channel roadmap for 2016-17 in India?
In the existing market of UID enable application namely Aadhaar enabled services and eKYC, we have many evaluation program in pipeline. State Govt., SI, FinTech, BFSI and Telecom are the major sector where evaluation programs are getting momentum.
Could you highlight your present GTM strategy as well as your overall sales strategy?
Presently, we’re outreaching system integration across all the verticals for iris biometric identification displacing traditional authentication methods.
Q) Could you highlight some of the key trends in the biometrics market and how it is shaping your future strategic market vision?
The Iris biometrics market is developing rapidly with increasing demand for better beneficiary authentication in Govt. vertical as well as bettet identification and monitoring of humans with many use-cases in other verticals.Adoption of iris / fingerprint biometric in the UID program, itself is the biggest boost to the biometric applications in India. Iris biometric is quickly growing in BFSI vertical due to Aadhaar. Moreover, the need for unique biometric property of human to authenticate an individual that are extremely difficult to hack, steal or replicate, unlike a token or password is enabling the shift from traditional authentication methods to biometrics.

An Aadhaar based identification initiative of the government is increasingly changing the security system infrastructure. According to the India Biometrics Market Forecast & Opportunities, 2020 report, the biometrics market in India is projected to grow at a robust CAGR of over 35 percent till 2020. Government, BFSI, Border security, Manufacturing and Telecom are some of the industry domain that are fueling the growth of the Biometrics Market.
