BlackBerry Limited has entered into a partnership with Bullitt Group to develop new highly-secure connected devices that are certified as “BlackBerry Secure.” Bullitt intends to embed BlackBerry cybersecurity technology into a range of rugged Cat (Caterpillar Inc.) and Land Rover branded products to address the needs of their security-conscious consumer and enterprise customers.
Bullitt Group designs, develops and produces innovative products for specific target audiences with relevant key features. Its rugged and tough devices are fit-for-purpose in the environments for which they are intended, anywhere from construction sites to the mountains. Bullitt Group devices are used by customers in over 100 countries, with a strong focus in EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa), North America, and Latin America.
"This new deal will allow us to expand our BlackBerry Secure footprint into the more than 100 markets that Bullitt Group currently distributes its products, especially in Europe, the Middle East and Africa,” said Alex Thurber, SVP and GM of Mobility Solutions, BlackBerry. “Bullitt Group’s customers, from farmers and construction workers to outdoor enthusiasts, will now be able to have rugged products that aren’t just durable on the outside, but also strong on security on the inside.”
"With the rising threat of hacks and security breaches in mobile and connected IoT devices, it was important for us to find a partner that can help us keep pace with, and protect against, the fast-changing security challenges that concern our customers,” said James Shannon, Chief Product Officer, Bullitt Group. “By partnering with BlackBerry, we’re able to provide a level of security that will give our customers peace of mind when communicating and using their devices for business, or in their everyday lives.”
Bullitt Group holds global mobile licenses from Caterpillar Inc. and Land Rover, and has a growing portfolio of connected device products covering the rugged, lifestyle and outdoor categories.
