CeBIT India announced its partnership with India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA), a premier trade body representing the Indian Electronic System Design and Manufacturing industry and MAIT, the apex body representing the computer hardware, training and software industries.
An MoU signed by IESA and MAIT with CeBIT today, will provide Electronics System Design and Manufacturing ecosystem players an opportunity to participate in the prestigious CeBIT show, that will take place in November 2014. This move comes at a time when the Government of India has identified electronics hardware manufacturing as a major thrust area expected to spiral to USD 400 billion by 2020.
Commenting on the partnership, Mehul Lanvers-Shah, Managing Director, Hannover Fairs India said, "We are looking forward to having IESA and MAIT on board to promote the role of India's ESDM sector. Collaborating with IESA and MAIT to promote India's ESDM sector will augment a steady manufacturing ecosystem. IESA and MAIT have been strongly advocating India to capture a larger percent of the GDP through electronics and manufacturing. We believe that local electronics manufacturing can play a crucial part in the development of the Global and Indian IT economy, and that small and medium scale businesses are key to developing the local ecosystem. CeBIT's goal is to encourage investment, adoption of new technologies and catalyze innovation & entrepreneurship in India's ESDM sector. "
MAIT has played an important role in enabling a policy framework for the hardware manufacturing ecosystem and is instrumental in attracting investments in the IT/electronics manufacturing space. MAIT has been instrumental in advocating local manufacturing and has been persuading SMEs to participate in local electronics, design and maufacturing. With this subsidized pavilion exclusively for SME members, MAIT furthers a step towards promoting manufacturing amongst SMEs.

The well recognized international CeBIT show is slated to be a first of its kind Business IT, ICT and ESDM show in India, dedicated to boost new business in the Indian IT /BPO and ESDM markets and create a platform for generation of new national and international business opportunities, drive new ideas, profitability & growth in India with an exposure to the International markets. The first edition of CeBIT India will take place in 2014 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, (BIEC) on Tumkur Road in Bangalore.
