Businesses now compete in the new digital economy, where success is defined not only by current performance but also by having a clear vision for the future. Performing today while strategizing for tomorrow demands rapid, yet intelligent, shifts across an organization. It requires strategically deploying digital technologies where they really matter, to improving the business and customers’ experiences,” said Debashis Chatterjee, President, Global Delivery, Cognizant, elaborating on this year’s theme. “We engaged in a rich dialogue on how digital is getting done today in three key areas: business models and strategies; operations; and systems and technology.

The advances of mobile technology and IoT has resulted in a more curious and highly empowered user. Companies today need to fundamentally rethink their digital strategy. They would need to provide a more helpful, personal and frictionless experience to their users. With Machine Learning and Automation there is an opportunity for industries and brands to be wildly assistive. A forum like this helps us learn from each other and provoke thinking on how we should go about our digital strategy,” said Arijit Sarker, Vice President, Google Technical Services, Google India.

Today technology is redefining our core business model and operations in the automotive industry, and there is a massive shift in the way customers want to engage with us. Cognizant has been our strategic partner, right from the early stage of our setup in India, while ensuring we stay competitive with the best globally,” said Manish Patel, Director–IT, MG Motor. “We are extremely thrilled to be a part of this summit and take advantage of the fresh perspectives and deep insights we’ve gained from industry experts and peers.

Building on the theme, Cognizant Community featured a line-up of Indian industry leaders, who offered their unique perspectives on the digital economy and the opportunities in their specific businesses and industries. Cognizant’s President, Global Growth Markets, Santosh Thomas, shared some of Cognizant’s best practices in helping clients with their digital transformation journeys across the globe. P. Gopichand, Chief National Coach, Indian Badminton Team delivered the inaugural address.

This was followed by a thought-provoking keynote panel discussion on the topic How India Enterprises Get Digital Done. The session, which was moderated by Sanjiv Gossain, Cognizant’s Senior Vice President, Digital Business Europe, featured panelists from various industries such as BFSI, Telecom, Manufacturing and Consumer Goods, who presented proven insights for developing new business models and extraordinary customer experiences, and discussed digital imperatives for their industries.

“India is a key market for Cognizant today. There is a palpable focus and drive among Indian enterprises to attain global benchmarks in digital adoption. They are increasingly adopting the imperatives to ‘think fast’ and ‘think forward’ in order to strengthen their organization’s relevance for the future. On one hand, Cognizant partners with Indian clients on digital ‘to run their businesses’ efficiently, on the other hand the company also works with clients who come with a ‘change the business’ mandate – many are doing both at the same time. As a result, many of Cognizant’s ground-breaking projects in India have been successfully adopted in other markets, said Narayan Iyer, Vice President, India and Middle East, Cognizant.
