In a recent visit by COMPASS members to CeBit, Bengaluru, known for being a global name in Compyer Expo, the regional association of Eastern India has received much more encouragement and support than one could image.
“This is the first time that a national association has extended their hand of support towards a regional association,” says Sanjay Chajjer, chairman and vice president, Exhibition Committee, COMPASS.
COMPASS Mega IT fair scheduled between 13th and 16th February 2015 at Netaji Indoor Stadium and Khudiram Anushilan Kendra aims to undergo a vital change this year. From being just an exhibition with hardware companies participating in the fair, this year, the association has plans to conduct seminars, panel discussions with expert speakers talking on the key issues surmounting the IT landscape in India and beyond.
“CeBit are experts in conducting seminars and this is where their support will help as we are still lagging behind in conducting seminars, workshops and interactive sessions,” said Pawan Jajodia, president, COMPASS.
The association aims to include solution and service providers apart from only hardware vendors like earlier years. The association also claims to have prepared for more space where such seminars and discussions can be held without an obstruction.
“We have taken Khudiram Anushilan Kendra where the seminars will take place apart from Netaji Indoor Stadium which will hold exhibitions and stalls of various vendors,” says Jjaodia.
Talking about the challenges faced by the association when it comes to attracting participants on a pan India scale, Chajjer said, “While approaching for participation, many national level dealers and distributors still show an iota of doubt with regards to due new aims and objectives. They are not yet convinced about our aim of reaching put towards a national participation.”
Apart from CeBit, the association has also received support from NASSCOM who will act as torchbearer for this regional association’s active expectations of upgrading the IT fair from being just an exhibition to becoming a IT Conclave hosting inter school quizzes, training workshops, conferences , thereby giving space to networking and interactive opportunities.
