In a bid to boost business as well as establish proper connectivity among the members, the All Delhi Computer Traders Association (ADCTA) has tied up with Idea Cellular to distribute its sim cards under a scheme to all its members.
Under this agreement, each member will be charged Rs 500, plus the taxes applicable, and he can then talk to all other ADCTA members for free, for two years, says Shyam Modi, chairman, ADCTA.
However, it was not clear that what happens after two years when the scheme gets over-probably a renewal fee.
Modi said, "This will act like a modern day intercommunication service with mobility factor added to it. The services will be available in National Capital Region."
He mentioned that currently 300 sim cards have already been distributed and would reach to most of its members by the end of this month. The association boasts of 1,600 members under its umbrella.
Apart from better connectivity and mobility factor, upon asking the agenda behind such initiative, Modi said that partners can save money while dealing with other partners for pricing, product availability etc.
Besides this, the association is also planning to talk to the government on BIS issue, which remains to be the bottleneck for many importers as they have to avail an NOC from the vendors to import their products in their individual capacity -once the BIS certifications deadlines end.
Speaking on the issue, Modi said, "This move will actually bring our business down."
