Asoke K Laha, founder, president & CEO InterraIT Inc and president & Managing Director of InterraIT India, shared his significant experience in starting and growing offshore development centers with DQ Channels

He is a working committee member of the Software Export Promotion Council (“ESC”) and also represents the Noida Special Economic Zone (“NSEZ”) as the President of NSEZ Entrepreneurs Association. He has an MSEE from the University of Saskatchewan, an MS in Computer Science from Northwestern University and BE (Honors) from Jadavpur University, India.

Asoke’s career in high technology spans more than two decades. He has an MSEE from the University of Saskatchewan, an MS in Computer Science from Northwestern University and BE (Honors) from Jadavpur University, India. After competing his studies, he joined software industry in Chicago in 1977.

Gaining experience, he switched to one of the hottest computer selling companies in Boston of 1980’s and provided his 5 years of quality talent to the company. Previously a senior software manager in companies like Digital and GTE Communication Systems, he was also Managing Director at Cadence India, where he built a large team of skilled engineers in Indian branch too and also won the Corporate Quality Award from Cadence and was responsible for the ISO 9000 certification earned by the Cadence India Center.

“Life was same as million or billion people have as they continue work for their bosses whole life. Nothing exciting was happening. This feeling pushed me to start a company of my own--InterraIT” said Asoke K Laha.

As Asoke stepped ahead to start something new, three keys points stroke his mind which made his path more clear and passionate. “why somebody will give you a business; why people going to work for you and how to get a customer” explained Asoke. “One thing was always clear that I’Il never start company in venture reason being control over the structured business already planned in my mind was must” he added.

Plan was ready, passion going high and Asoke kicked off a well structured solution providing company Interra-IT (headquartered in US). It also has two legal entities in India based in Noida and Kolkata.

“We’ll soon going to set-up more branches target NCR, northern part of India and south firstly” determinedly said Asoke. “I never can compromise with quality whether that’s services, business or employees.My belief is to prepare my employee chain stronger and techno understand with thought to provide quality services to our esteemed customers” he added.

Industry is changing and person should have grandstanding of changing phases in technology. According to him, “If changes will not take place you’ll never know the realities. Your people that work for you are your most important investment and the most accurate barometer to how your business is performing. No matter how busy, make time to listen to them about what they need and listen to your clients about how they are feeling about your services. If need be, adjust as quickly as you can. And most importantly, enjoy yourself!”
