Jeffrey Immelt, the former CEO of GE, is the ‘frontrunner’ to become the new CEO of Uber, reports Recode. Citing sources, the report says that there are three persons in contention, however, the company’s board of directors believes Immelt to be the most capable of quickly fixing Uber’s toxic workplace culture, including sagging employee morale and abundant legal troubles.

“We know it is never going to be a perfect choice, but everyone is becoming exhausted,” an unnamed source told Recode, adding, “We need someone with the skills to move us along.”

Uber has been on a desperate lookout for an able leader since Travis Kalnick resigned under shareholders’ pressure. Not just CEO, Uber lost a spate of top-level executives too in the past few months leading to many vacant posts that include chief financial and operating officers.

Uber’s legal troubles also got aggravated last week with Benchmark Capital, one of the Uber’s largest shareholders, filing a lawsuit against Kalanick accusing the former chief executive of fraud, breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty. Kalanick, on his part, issued a statement calling the lawsuit “completely without merit and riddled with lies and false allegations.”
