On the occasion of the good governance day, the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), launched one month free rental MTNL broadband plans for the telecom and 21 schemes including IT and postal departments as well.
The Department launched time stamping of digital signature, integrated Indian languages virtual keyboard for Android platform, Param Shavak (super computer in box solution), .bharat domain in Gujarati and Bangla, e-launch of support international patent protection in Electronics and IT scheme (SIP-EIT), disbursements under modified special incentive package scheme(m-SIPS), electronics manufacturing clusters (EMC) disbursement, gyansetu-an internet based real time ICT systems to provide e-services to the rural population of India, MTNLBSE-4.02 % apps for android smart phones, e-governance competency framework (e-GCF) and e-books for the three departments.
IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad emphasized that "simple, inclusive technology has transformative power and is the source of good governance".
Already DeitY has taken a lead in good governance through its initiatives like MyGov, Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System, e-Greetings, e-Sampark, National Digital Literacy Mission, e-Governance Competency Framework, said RS Sharma, secretary, DeitY.
"All government officials need to develop a positive mindset for e-governance and other Information and communication technology (ICT) programmes. They also need to update their ICT skills on a regular basis", he added.
