HTech's CEO, Madhav Sheth, recently revealed that the company has already invested a whopping Rs. 400 crores to establish robust operations and distribution networks for the Honor brand in India. The investment is part of HTech's ambitious plan to re-introduce the brand to the Indian market after it was previously sold by Huawei due to sanctions imposed by the US government.
Sheth also confirmed that HTech has plans to release several more products under the Honor brand in the next few months, although he did not provide any specifics about the upcoming releases. Additionally, he revealed that the company has been in talks with three contract manufacturers in India and is planning to commence local manufacturing of Honor smartphones by the first quarter of 2024, which is between January to March period. With this investment and plan, HTech aims to revive the brand in India and make it a leading player in the country's highly competitive smartphone market.
As part of the Honor, Sheth confirms that India is considered to be a key growing market and added that the company's 2024 strategy is in place. He claims that the firm has “something big” planned for the Indian market but did not disclose any details.
