HP Appoints Ipsita Dasgupta as SVP & Managing Director, India Market

HP has appointed Ipsita Dasgupta as the Senior Vice President and Managing Director of its India market, overseeing strategy and P&L operations in India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. Dasgupta, who officially joined HP on October 30, reports to David McQuarrie, HP's Chief Commercial Officer. Gurpreet Singh Brar, who served as Interim India MD since November 2022, transitions to Vice-President of Innovation and Growth for HP’s India Market.

Dasgupta brings a wealth of experience from her previous role at Apple, where she served as Senior Director of Marketing for Apple Services. In this position, she led Global Synergy Marketing, External Partnership Marketing, Consumer Insights, and Market and Competitive Intelligence for Apple's subscription services. Her appointment reflects HP's focus on the strategic growth of the Indian market.

Dasgupta brings 24 years of international operating experience and a diverse background in leading P&Ls across various industries. Before her tenure at Apple, she held executive positions at Star India, a Walt Disney Company, and General Electric Company, where she served as President of Corporate Strategy and Incubated Business and Chief Commercial Officer for South Asia and Greater China, respectively.

Educationally, Dasgupta holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and economics from Columbia University and an MBA from Harvard Business School, underscoring her strong academic foundation in addition to her extensive professional experience. With her expertise and leadership, HP anticipates driving its business in the region through the next phase of growth under her guidance.
