National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HP. The MoU was signed by Dilip Chenoy, MD and CEO, NSDC, and Neelam Dhawan, VP and GM, Enterprise Group and country MD, HP India. Under the MoU, NSDC and HP will implement the rollout of the ‘HP Future Classroom’ across India and this will include provisioning of technology and education to help bridge the gap in delivering digital education across the country.
Commenting on the MoU, Dilip Chenoy, MD and CEO, NSDC, said, “ICT has a very crucial role in imparting education and empowering students with skills that will make them more efficient in their job roles. In line with the digital India vision, this is an initiative by NSDC and HP to collaborate for cloud-enabled future classrooms which will make the students more advanced in this field and will also give them a platform to be more creative and showcase their skills. We are confident of the success of this collaboration with HP and its results.”
“Digital literacy is the key to unlocking the potential in rural India, particularly in the areas of education, empowerment, entrepreneurship and employability. With the HP Future Classroom that has been conceptualized and developed locally, NSDC can leverage HP’s propriety technologies, expertise in cloud services and industry know-how to accelerate digital literacy across India,” said Neelam Dhawan, VP and GM, Enterprise Group and country MD, HP India.
NSDC will be responsible for the digital curriculum content, reaching out to lesser segments of the society and identification of partners for the implementation of programs and curriculum including HP LIFE (HP Learning Initiative for Entrepreneurs). Through partners, NSDC will be responsible for equipment maintenance, hybrid learning technologies and monitoring and reporting results. Post course completion, each trainee will receive a joint certification from NSDC, HP and the implementing partner.
