Huawei wins CSR Community Initiative award

Huawei India,as been awarded 'Best Innovative CSR Project in Education' for its programme E- hope, implemented in multiple locations across India. The case study was based on project, E-hope, to equip, educate and empower young minds.

This programme aims to digitally equip rural schools in India and aid in bridging the digital divide by providing access to the information technology and computer systems. By providing computers and promoting equal access to connectivity, the program contributes significantly to narrowing the gap between the digital ‘haves’ and ‘have-nots’.  E-Hope intends to reach about 100,000 children annually. The program was launched across India in phases with an objective to build a knowledge network of 1,000 schools within the next two to three years.

The India CSR Community Initiative Awards is a event that acknowledges unique and extraordinary contributions in the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) domain. It acknowledges the contributions in the CSR domain that are raising benchmarks by bringing radical and transformative change in the development arena through innovation and excellence.

In addition, Huawei is pursuing various CSR activities to equip, educate amd empower young minds. In order to foster spirit of innovation and scholarship in every discipline, Huawei has instituted 'Huawei Maitree Scholarship Programme' to aid Indian students who wish to pursue higher studies in China. The Huawei Excellence Award Scholarship Program has also been initiated to award the students who show academic excellence in their respective fields of study.
