"We are aiming at least 25% market share in the office segment in coming two years and continue our market leadership in production printing segment," said Tadahiko Sumitani, Managing Director, Konica Minolta Business Solutions India, part of 10 bn USD Konica Minolta holding company. He was speaking at the inauguration of its first Digital Imaging Square (DIS) in its Gurgaon corporate office in which it has invested USD 1 million.
With a turnover of Rs 230 crore in 2012-13, Konica India has got almost 50% market share in India in production printing segments. "In the mono market, we have 17% market share while giving tough competition to Ricoh, claiming as No 1. The A3 market is dominated by Konica, Ricoh and Xerox. Currently our turnover has 60-70% contribution by production printing business, "added Sumitani.
Konica Minolta has set up a direct channel of sales to service its Global Account Program, in the last six months. This channel will complement the sales by 90 odd Channel partners which cater to the top 100 cities. V Balakrishnan, executive GM, marketing, told The DQ Week at the event. "This year we have sharpened our focus on partner centric activities to enable them to meet customer expectations. Since the start of our operation in September 2010, our focus has been on driving solutions," added Bala.
The partners can bring in their customers to this centre to showcase the solutions and similarly, the end customers can checkout the latest innovations of Konica Minolta Printing solutions."We are expecting to open few more DIS centres in major metros in India in forthcoming years," Balakrishnan said.
To drive business in the SMB market, last year we conducted 200 road shows in tier 2 and 3 cities. And this year we will expand to tier 3 and 4 cities. "We also provide training at 5 metro offices to our partners, added Bala. We recently concluded an annual partner meet at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad to where the top management of the company closely communicates with the partners about company's annual strategy ."
