Software major Microsoft India announced the appointment of Anant Maheshwari as president, replacing Bhaskar Pramanik. The appointment will be effective from September 1, said Microsoft.
Incidentally, Karan Bajwa, the former managing director of Microsoft, has joined enterprise IT major IBM, one of the rivals of Microsoft. The appointment of Karan Bajwa is expected to boost sale of IBM products and solutions in India.
Anant Maheshwari will take over the operations of the company from Bhaskar Pramanik, chairman of Microsoft India, with effect from January 1, 2017. Pramanik will retire from the software company in March 2017.
Anant Maheshwari will be joining from Honeywell where he was their president for India.
At Microsoft, Anant Maheshwari will be responsible for the technology company’s product, service, and support offerings across India.
“As we continue to support our customers’ digital transformation, Anant’s leadership will be pivotal to our continued growth,” said Jean-Philippe Courtois, president of Microsoft Global Sales, Marketing & Operations.
“The ambition of a mobile-first, cloud-first world complements India’s growth themes of Smart Cities and Digital India,” said Anant Maheshwari.
