Mindtree scores a deal with BBC

Mindtree and BBC have agreed upon a deal wherein the IT services provider will test a range of the broadcaster's digital products. The contract won by Mindtree is between the value £15m and £25m.

Under the two-year contract, Mindtree will supply services to deliver and support the testing of digital products and applications owned by the BBC.

These include applications and websites that run on digital and broadcast platforms, such as desktop computers, mobile devices, the cloud, integrated digital TV, Internet protocol TV, satellite TV and the web.

Mindtree, which was one of seven suppliers who bid for the contract, said the testing services will include functional, non-functional, test management, exploratory, automation and load testing.

Richard Smith, head, Market Engagement at the BBC, said: "This is a non-exclusive agreement for a minimum of two years, and covers the provision of specialist digital testing services on behalf of a number of BBC teams, not just those working on BBC Online."
