Built upon company’s award-winningvSpace® Server desktop virtualisation software and Numo™ System on Chip (SoC) technology, the NComputing solutions are designed to lower desktop computing costs, improve manageability, and reduce both energy consumption and eWaste.

Immediate benefits of NComputing solutions include reduction in the initial establishment cost of computers by up to 50%, up to 90% reduction in electricity consumption as NComputing’s access devices consume 1 to 5 watts of electricity, and reduction in upgrade costs as only host CPUs need to be upgraded. So, organizations can reduce their overall capital cost by up to 50% by adopting NComputing technology. Moreover, it contributes its share to green computing. Any CIO would be more than willing to deploy such a product.

So, where are Ncomputing solutions deployed majorly?

Currently, NComputing solutions are deployed across businesses including SME/SMB organizations, banks and financial institutions, enterprises and call centers. The World Trade Organization, Canon, Mahindra and Mahindra Financials, DHL, Pollmeier Sawmills, multiple dealerships of Maruti Suzuki India, The Bhavasara Kshatriya Co–operative Bank Ltd, Bengaluru, ITW India Automotive, Pune are a few names. Apart from this, NComputing has been adopted by hospitals, clinics, schools, and government facilities throughout India. Some of the other large scale implementations made by NComputing in India include 60,000 seats in 6000 plus Government schools in Andhra Pradesh; 52,000 seats in 2622 government schools of Haryana; 18,000 seats across 1800 learning centers of Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Limited (MKCL); and 31,000 seats in Employees’ state Insurance Corporation of India (ESIC) across 2210 locations in India and deployment of many lakh devices in over 40,000 educational institutions.

NComputing has been the leader in desktop virtualisation in India and APAC as per IDC 2013 report, and has maintained this position for 5 consecutive years.

What are your specific plans for targeting SMBs?

Small and mid-sized organizations, not only in India but the world over, are invariably faced with cost and manageability challenges, which mainly include high cost of providing every user with a PC; frequent technological changes and resulting hardware and software obsolescence; costs associated with upgrade, replacement and management of the IT infrastructure; technical complexity associated with managing hybrid IT set ups and creating a robust and secure framework to enable and support high priority IT initiatives, including mobility, BYOD and migration to new versions of Windows operating environments

NComputing offers products that provide the best value and price performance to address these challenges, squarely.

For basic needs in small to less complex environments like educational and training institutions or small business firms, there are NComputing products such as the X-series and the M-series desktop virtualization solutions. For more complex networked environments such as LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (wide area network) and hybrid IT environments, we have products like L300 and V-space client. NComputing also has the N Series thin client access devices, a brilliant product that delivers the richest VDI experience for Citrix HDX at the lowest cost. It is also one of the greenest enterprise client solutions.

Please elaborate on your device agnostic strategy in the desktop computing market?

As you may have also gauged, the recent IT trends are being observed largely around BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) and mobility. This means, people want to access not just their own desktop or applications, but also their workspace, anytime-anywhere, from the device of their choice. These trends are, in turn, accelerating the adoption of desktop virtualisation. To adapt to this changed scenario, organizations are realizing the need to make their IT infrastructure device agnostic.

NComputing offers end-to-end, integrated virtualisation solutions, which include vSpace virtualisation software for server/host PC, end-point thin client devices, and vSpace client software (for use on non-NComputing end-point devices such as laptops, tablets, and smartphones) to support the adoption of BYOD and Mobility. This it does by enabling a centrally virtualised and device-agnostic IT infrastructure.

Please highlight the benefits of Thin Client Technology?

Thin client/virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) is being increasingly adopted across multiple verticals and customer segments starting from Education, IT/ITeS, SMB to larger enterprises and Government. Key reason is, VDI offers a viable and secure alternative to traditional PC computing.

The key value proposition of VDI as compared to traditional desktops is it enables the expansion of computing access in the most hassle-free, cost-effective and energy-efficient manner while also enabling CIOs to support current IT trends such as Mobility, BYOD, centralized and remote management of IT infrastructure, and so on, with agility. From the user’s perspective there is no compromise in functionality and user experience in comparison to any other alternate IT architecture. VDI not only lowers the acquisition and deployment cost of computing but also significantly reduces the TCO (Total Cost of Operation).

What was your channel strategy around thin client for SMBs?

NComputing started its journey around 6 years back in India. Since then the company has built a strong technical and marketing team in the country, along with 850+ partners/distributors spread across 140 plus cities that include all metro cities as well as tier-2 and tier-3 cities in the interiors of India.

NComputing is a 100% channel centric company and Redington is the national value added distributor for NComputing in India. Redington and NComputing actively work together to grow the business and the partner network in the country.

Currently, we are working toward increasing our channel network to over 1000+ partners within the next 1-2 years. This would help us in targeting and penetrating more cities across the county.

It is largely due to this innovative, channel-centric business model that NComputing has become the Leader in the Desktop Virtualisation market space in India and Asia-Pacific (according to IDC 2013 report), and has maintained this position for 5 consecutive years. At the global level, NComputing has been named a “major player” in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Client Virtualization 2013 Vendor Analysis.  NComputing has also been mentioned in Gartner’s “Cool Vendors in Endpoint Computing 2014” Report.
