An IT Champion from North East

No matters from where you belong, no matter from where you have started, its all about passion, dedication and hard work. Born in a very poor middle family in North East, Pawan Kumar Agarwalla is now successful entrepreneur and founder of Datamation, one of the most reputed IT Houses of the North East shares his journey of Datamation in candid interaction with DQ Channels.

Pawan Kumar has done his schooling in a small village in Nakachari, Jorhat and completed his graduation in Mathematics from JB College, Jorhat. He did his PG in Mathematics from Gawahati University and after that pursued a Computer Diploma from Birla Institute, Mumbai.

Being born in a poor middleclass family in a tea garden, he never felt that he was poor reason being tons of love that he got from his parents as well as dreams he was planting each day.

“I passed my 10th exam without electricity at home but I never felt myself poor because my parents always supported me thoroughly during my initial days of career. They gave me so much love care and whatever I needed those days and fulfilled all my desires. Due to blessings of my parents, I have achieved whatever wanted to” he recollects.

Pawan started his company in the name of Datamation in the year 1989 with the support of his family with a vision to reach at higher levels of success along with providing society a wide range of IT services.

In a very short period, Datamation started selling the latest gadgets like i-phone, mobile, laptops, smart phones to every nook and corner of NE and to top businessmen, teachers, govt. departments and so on and so forth.

Being a diligent and courageous person, he is now one of the leading suppliers of all leading IT brands like HP, Canon, Sony, Asus, etc in North eastern area and carries a quality of quick decision making. Pawan keeps on traveling around the world to capture the techno trend ideas and implement in our country. He has also traveled in more than 50 countries on invitation of World’s leading IT companies.

While exploring the opportunity to meet global CEOs of IT companies like Microsoft, Asus, Intel, Sony, HP etc he has gained lots of positive energy and inspiration from their achievements.

Kumar and his company have received more than two hundred awards from different organizations, vendors, company, media etc. Company has been continuously receiving the awards of recorganization, best distributor of the region from top IT vendors of the world. He treasured knowledge and experiences from his journeys and meets which helped his company to become a trust worthy company and service provider.

Kumar was the president of Computer Association of North East for five years and contributed his experience in uplifting the association members and IT society of the region. As an active personality he never misses rejoicing his life. Kumar loves listening music, reading books and gardening and to live his hobby he is also associated with Lions Club Assam.

Kumar lives in Tarun Nagar, Guwahati with his wife Santosh Agarwalla and a son and a daughter and an idol for his family.

Interestingly, he is also a visiting lecturer of Royal group of Colleges, Betkuchi, Assam Engineering College, Assam Institute of Management and NERIM. He gives his best to motivate youth across the NE and building successful entrepreneurs out of them.

“I want to share my thoughts and experience beyond my business field with people who urge to rise and provide society an innovative tech,” stated Kumar.
