India was recently recognized as the sixth strategic region which will take care of the ISAMEA (India, South Asia, Middle East and Africa) as India is rapidly emerging as a growth leader for the entire Asia-Pacific region. Panasonic drives its product development, R&D, business solutions and its global sourcing base for mobile phones from India, further building on company’s commitment towards keeping India at the center of its growth plans. During his visit, Kazuhiro Tsuga not only reviewed the year gone by but also assessed the way forward to define the key focus areas for the region, keeping in mind the current national scenario and business dynamics.

Panasonic’s key strategy to accelerate growth is to continue strengthening the existing businesses, entering new product categories, and partnering with companies to achieve a common objective for the Indian market. Panasonic India plans to continue introducing new range of innovative products, manufactured in accordance with evolving needs of our customers.

While currently there is a lot of focus on investing in India, for Panasonic, India has been a high growth market for the past seven years. Besides generating employment by providing jobs to about 15,000 people in India, the company has already made heavy investments and is now stepping up commitments vis-a-vis investments in India on localized products, talent, marketing and manufacturing units.
