The PMO appreciated Samsung’s continuing support to various social causes. Samsung also expressed its desire to participate in the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ scheme initiated at the behest of the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Last year, the company donated Rs 3 crore to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund to aid relief operations in flood-hit Jammu and Kashmir.

“Our voluntary contribution to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund is aimed at contributing to existing relief efforts and also towards bolstering the fund. We deeply appreciate the commitment and leadership of the government managing relief efforts,” said Jason Dongwon Kwak, MD of Samsung Research India, Bangalore which made the donation.

“Samsung lays strong emphasis on corporate social responsibility, which is aimed at creating value for society by addressing societal needs and challenges,” he added.
