Samsung has partnered in the Google's Helping Women Get Online initiative along with Aircel. The initiative was launched in November 2013 to increase the access of internet among women in India.
During the course of time it was realized that it was due to the issue of accessibility that the campaign was not deriving results as expected. Samsung's partnership will fill the gap. Internet training sessions will be provided jointly by Samsung and Google on both Internet usage and Samsung smart phones powered by Aircel data.
One of the many activities to address this scenario involves internet training in cities and towns across 12 states in the country, targeting over 4 million literate women from low income groups. The program also targets girl students with an aim to build them as influencers and bring about a long-term societal change.
