SecurEnvoy announced SecurPassword, a solution that enables Microsoft Windows
domain users to reset their passwords, using token less, two-factor
authentication.
A six-digit, one-time pass code is sent to the user's mobile phone via SMS.
No software is required to be deployed at the user's end. This would
significantly benefit the banking and IT segment by providing them with security
through its dual authentication method.
"SecurPassword is the only solution in the market which allows resetting
passwords, which is mobile phone and mobile operator-independent. It also
counters any SMS delays or intermittent signal problems, and also supports any
GSM or CDMA mobile phones," said Nitin Kathuria, Director-Operations and
Strategy, Lancers e-Risk Solutions, he informed.
Users can put their own password using mobile phones to create two-factor
authentication. Users who have forgotten their password simply have to enter
their Windows login ID into a dedicated website, enter their PIN or answer a
configurable security question and then enter the pass code from their phone.
Once successfully authenticated, one can create a new password.
