The Channel Excellence Awards saw more
than 100 companies gathering in Thailand's capital, Bangkok for a
three-day event from Jan 29 to 31. The sponsors for this event were
Kaseya, Sify, Toshiba, LG, Digilink, D-Link, Eaton, Siemens and GoIP.
The awards were hosted on a river
cruise, which was immensely enjoyed by the solution providers
present. The 'Most Successful Solution Provider' in the Gold category
was given away to Allied Digital Services whereas Frontier Business
Systems and Team Computers bagged the Silver award. Omnitech
Solutions and Allied Digital Services were recognized as the 'Fastest
Growing Solution Providers' in both Gold and Silver categories
respectively. Frontier Business Systems in the Gold category and
Orient Technologies in the Silver category walked away with the 'Most
Comprehensive Solution Provider' award. Allied Digital Services and
PC Solution were acknowledged as 'Best Service Providers' in volume
and value business categories respectively. 'The 'Best Deployment'
award was given to PC Solutions in Gold and Wysetek in Silver
category.
The three-day event was marked with
interactive sessions, where partners, vendors and speakers expressed
their views on the upcoming opportunities in the solution providing
business. The CIOs present at the event interacted with partners
about the challenges they face in IT infrastructure and the role that
SPs can play in revolutionizing IT implementation. Arun Gupta, Group
Chief Technology Officer, Shoppers Stop and Sumit Roy, VP and
Head-Business Applications, MPS Limited held a session entitled
'What a CIO Wants'. The session acted as a bridge to fill the gap
between SPs and CIOs. Keeping the recession in mind, Sanjeev Singhal,
EVP-Finance and Accounts, Religare Enterprises shared his thoughts
on the fiscal lessons for the future.

Hemant Mishra, MD, Neeti Brand Solutions spoke to partners
about marketing their companies in a way that attracts customers and
gives them higher credibility in the competitive market. Prof Wong
Poh Kam, Chairman-Business Angel Network, SE Asia conducted a
knowledge session for partners and shared his views about how to make
a company a viable prospect for investors.Shyam Malhotra, Executive
Director,
Cybermedia India spoke about the ways and methods in which solution
providers should acknowledge potential of manpower and how to retain
them in every company.
