Could you highlight some of your customizations to the HD conferencing technology considering that India?
The bandwidth in India fluctuates greatly. The very nature of video requires a great degree of data to be transferred and usually high bandwidth is preferred. Recognizing this situation and understanding that the broadband in India is not entirely stable, we came out with a proactive approach towards figuring out what is the available bandwidth, at that given point of time. So we developed a technology that is a proactive AVQOS which is a proactive technology. How it works is that the equipment shall scan the available bandwidth 33 times in a second and correct itself six times in a benefit. The benefit we acquire is that product can predict what is the next available bandwidth and accordingly it changes the flow of data and thereby reduce the frame rate or reduce the quality to ensure that there is continuous motion on the other side. This technology is proactive and reduces distortion.
What is your channel strategy here in India?
We believe in our partners and work with our associates very close that are the Indian distributors and through that we reach out to the end customer. At the same time our focus is in increasing the channel base and that the product is available in the market for the end customer to get it easily. So that is our approach in terms of increasing our channel base. In terms of large corporate, yes, we are working very closely with large corporates and we intend to invest huge amounts in the meeting room, conference room sort of setups.
What is your pricing strategy in India?
The Indian market is a highly price sensitive one. So we took an approach where we generally met with partners, the end customers and understood what is the right kind of the price. So we worked around it to make it affordable and we are able to offer the right kind of quality and the right technology type.
What factors affected the adoption of your HD video conferencing unit by the Olympic committee for the Tokyo Olympics? What are some of the unique features of the product?
Some of the unique features of Panasonic HDVC are the Proactive AVQOS technology added with dual stream and dual speed features. Panasonic HDVC also offers , upto 10 location multipoint call with 1080p resolution . These are unique and makes the product very attractive for the Indian market.
