Targus Technologies grew
at 13% from the last financial year. It also grew extensively in
terms of expanding global and national footprint, as it has recently
opened an office in Dubai to add to the global footprint. With this,
Targus now has offices in India, Singapore, Canada and the Middle
East. Its Singapore office generated $1 mn business.
And though the company has
been traditionally strong in the northern region, it continues to
empower and expand its reach into different regions. It recently
opened an office in Chennai to capitalize the market in the south.
The company now has 12 offices giving a wide national and
geographical footprint.
The brands through which
Targus generated high revenues are HP, Cisco, Juniper, and Lenovo. A
`5 crore order from Idea telecom infrastructure was recently set up,
wherein it deployed core MPLS Juniper routers for Ericsson. It also
bagged project worth Rs 2 crore from Dish TV, and a `5 crore project
from MTS where it deployed HP P9500 and 3Par-T400 enterprise storage
solutions for mission-critical telecom application and databases, and
Superdome 2 solution for tele-compass application and cloud computing
solution with HP Blade Matrix. It had also undertaken a project for
Educomp, where it has done installation and maintenance of over 9,000
smart classes in schools across India. In terms of certifications,
Targus is now gold partner of Riverbed, 'tier—1' partner of
Juniper, silver partner of Hitachi, and business partner of Systimax.
The company is doing a strong SWOT analysis to plug loopholes (if
any) and is targeting Rs 175 crore for FY12.
