In an interaction with DQ Channels, Pinaki Chatterjee, Director India and SAARC, IP-COM talks about the company’s market strategy and Vision for Indian Market.

For the last eight years IP-COM has been growing steadily and has been awarded as the top 10 most popular brands in China.

What is your Market Strategy?

IP – COM IS originally 15 years old company and we have three R&Ds located in US and China with 1000+ highly trained engineers. All IP-COM products are designed in US and made in China in self-owned factories with more than 3000 highly qualified workforce. 90% or more of IP-COM products are designed based on Broadcom Chipset to ensure high quality and stability of the product. IP-COM wishes to achieve the greatest height in the SMB WLAN space. We carry all the strength to develop and design the entire product in house we don’t out source any product to anybody. Few years back, we made a small advertisement which says ‘If you guess Einstein might have outsourced his ideas from somebody then he would have not become Einstein’. Similarly, we don’t out source anything with anybody. So this is our always our strategy to make our product more cost effective and value for money.

Let us  talk about your channel strategy

We are now operating about 30-35 counties directly and indirectly and in India we have direct operations. We have chosen to partner with Redington India as a National Distributor. We have created a Eco System which will be healthier to everybody .We have created a value added distributors in each of the important cities as per our business perspective which covers all the A class cities and most important B class cities. We are addressing selectively few SI’s instead going to all SI’s in market and we are following the ethical channel structure as our margins are assured and we also strictly follow the case locking system.

What kind of challenges did your company face when you entered in the market?

If we talk about the challenges, I would say spreading awareness is a major challenge. Generally companies faces to introduce the product in front of customer understand the market and spreading awareness about the product. So to overcome with these challenges we choose Redington as our ND. Redington is a big name in India and they always deals with genuine products.

How you look into Digital India?

IP-COM as a brand believes is providing cost effective value for money SMB wireless solutions for partners and customers so that technology becomes affordable to common man, we have observed SOHO products used for SMB needs due to high cost of procurement which end of the day does not fulfill the need of the customer and they sacrifice on quality and stability, 90% of the public area are no WiFi zone including shopping malls, hotels, bars etc unlike other countries where even bus terminals has free WiFi. We are here to help fulfil this dream to WiFi everywhere and be integral part of Digital India. We are currently in 2 smart cities projects and our product is under evaluation. So we are very excited with this imitative taken by Indian Government.

What is your vision for the Indian Market?

India is indeed Incredible, new Govt. initiatives really excites us to be here, we have products that perfectly fits in and initiatives like Digital India and Smart City WiFi projects need cost effective value for money products and solution which being an original OEM we have the strength to deliver. We have strong plans to expand in India consistently by following channel friendly approach, we welcome all interested partners to join us and enjoy our growth together.
