New Delhi: Metro Ethernet switches manufactured by Zyxel Communications Corp has earned tier-1 level of quality. Zyxel M-Series Carrier Ethernet switches, MGS-3712/MGS-3712F and MES-3728, are aligned with Ethernet Private Line (EPL), Ethernet Virtual Private Line (EVPL), and Ethernet LAN (E-LAN) of Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF), and are certified as MEF-9 and MEF-14 compliant.
The Metro Ethernet Forum is a global industry alliance comprised of more than 145 active members representing Carrier Ethernet industry groups. The forum develops technical specifications and implementation agreements to promote interoperability and deployment of Carrier Ethernet worldwide. The program enables service providers to make informed decisions and promote reduced service and customer equipment risks. In addition, it aims to decrease expenses, reduce testing time, and enhance the ability to respond faster to demand for Carrier Ethernet services.
“Zyxel's Ethernet quality has been recognized by leading service providers, such as Chunghwa Telecom, for years. This certification demonstrates that our Ethernet technology performance meets the challenging demands of operators in the construction and development of Carrier Ethernet networks,” said Alpha Chen, VP-Enterprise Solution Strategy Business Unit, Zyxel.
He said that service providers are looking for an easily deployed carrier-class solution with intelligence and minimal capital investment. “Zyxel's M-series Ethernet switches provide architectural flexibility and intelligent service delivery mechanisms to help our clients build a scalable and reliable service-driven metro network for maximum performance,” Chen added.
Zyxel Ethernet solutions will be demonstrated at Cebit 2009, Hall 13, Booth C70 from March 3-8, 2009.
